BAPCI is a leading operational NGO in the Black Sea region of Bulgaria which has established a record of an active participatory democracy advocate and change agent in the area of regional development.
The organization has been involved in a range of challenging projects regionally and nationally in fostering local democracy and community development. Underlying principles of BAPCI activities have been: professionalism, entrepreneurial approach, local “ownership” of decision-making, inclusion of disadvantaged groups, partnership.
In appreciation of the organization’s role for the uniting of the civic sector in the Black Sea region the leader of BAPCI Mrs Daniela Bozhinova has been nominated on several occasions to represent represent the regional NGO community in national fora and programme committees such as the Dem NET Program Committee, the Public Council attached to the Standing Parliamentary Commission on the Issues of Civic Society etc.
